House of Handwork started in Jaipur with a simple frustration β most bedding available online was either mass-produced and forgettable, or handcrafted but impractical for daily use. We wanted something different: cotton dohars, bedsheets, and bathrobes that carry the same handloom and block-print traditions Rajasthan is known for, but made for how people actually sleep and live today.
The Craft Behind Every Piece
Every dohar we make starts on a handloom, not a factory line. The block-printed motifs are stamped by hand, piece by piece, the way they have been in Rajasthan for generations. It takes longer, and no two pieces are ever quite identical β but that's the point. A machine-printed sheet looks the same in every home. A hand-block-printed one looks like yours.
Made for the Home, Not Just the Photo
We design around comfort first β breathable cotton for hot nights, reversible dohars for changing seasons, bathrobes soft enough for daily use, not just gifting. Heritage should hold up to everyday life, not just sit folded in a cupboard.
